Ready for this month's reveal? Here's a reminder of the sketch that we are working with.
Updated: And here is my layout (sorry for the technical difficulties which delayed my upload earlier today)
I pretty much used the sketch exactly as it was and used contrasting patterned papers to create interest.
I used some simple embellishments to dress it up and a pop of color in the title.
Notice how I framed and cut my photos to look like Polaroids. This is an easy trick that you can use to make those photos stand out even more especially when using a lot of patterned paper.
Head on over to see what Francine came up with for her layout.
Thanks for stopping by and for understanding if you were here earlier.
Happy Spring!
Here's a reminder of this month's sketch.
And my layout
I am more than ready for spring after the terrible winter we have had here in the north east. At least I dodged the snow storm earlier this week. I happened to be in San Antonio, TX for work and while the temperatures there were not exactly as warm as I would have liked them to be it was still nice to get a touch of spring.
I used paint as the mat for my photo and to make it stand out from the yellow background paper. It was so much fun playing with paints again. And of course lots of layering with transparencies, rubons, and stickers.
Note how adding chipboard shapes to rubons and stickers adds so much dimension to the layout.
I hope you have had a better start to spring than we have here. Now head on over to see Francine's layout.
As I look out my window and see the sun trying to peek out through the snow that is falling, I think to myself yes it is definitely March in New England (lol). Happy March to everyone. Here's the sketch I did for this month.
Think paint and rubons maybe when doing this one?

Check back in two weeks for the reveal of our layouts!
The year is moving along and I can't believe that is already the end of February and time for the reveal of our layouts. Here's a reminder of the sketch that we used this month.
I had selfies on the brain this week as my gym is running post your selfie photos on their facebook page.
I pulled out my transparencies from my stash for this layout as I wanted to keep it pretty simple.
I love using a mix of alphabets for my layouts as I find it adds more interest and you can also add emphasis to individual words by changing the fonts and or color of the text.
I added a corner from some lace cardstock to add some color and dimension to the layout and to help my main photo pop.
Have you been using our sketches? We would love to see your layouts if you have been.
Now head on over to see what Francine came up with this month.
Here's a look back at the sketch that we are using this month.
Here is my take on it!
What I love about this layout is that I did not use any patterned paper. I created my borders using washi tape and paper "ribbon" and of course I had to add some bling.
Now head on over to see what Francine has done with this sketch and join us again next month for another sketch and layout.
Happy Happy 2014!!! Yes I am back after a short break from blogging and no better way to kick of the year than with our first 2014 sketch.
I think subconsciously I knew what photos I wanted to use for my first layout of the year as I did this sketch but you will have to come back in two weeks to see what I did with it. I also hope that you will share the layouts you use the sketch for. We would love to see all the interpretations of it.
Use the JPG above or one of the links below.
See you in two weeks!
Is it really December already! Where did the year go! We decided to post this week as last Thursday was Thanksgiving in the US and we are not going to do a sketch for December. So this reveal will be our last for the year but don't worry we will be back next year and hoping to mix things up a bit.
Reminder of the sketch we are using.
And here's what I did with it!
I knew as soon as I finished this sketch that I wanted to use a collage of photos on the strip at the top and these just happen to be the perfect photos for this.
Notice how I used the letter M as an E as I realized I only had one letter e left on this alpha set and of course no other orange letters in my stash.
And yes that is some of the actual yarn that I dyed that day!
Now head on over to see what Francine came up with for her last sketch layout of the year.
Thanks for sticking with us through another year!
Scrapping is my passion as it allows me the freedom to express my creative side in many ways.
