It's the day before All Hallow's Eve and also the end of October. The days are getting shorter and cooler and the holidays are just around the corner. But before we get all caught up in the holiday madness here is my October layout based on the sketch below.
Time Spent with Friends is Never Wasted. These are photos from a couple of things I did with my girlfriends this summer. It was an awesome summer and I am looking forward to more fun times with them.
I took the basic idea of two photos over a background of strips from the sketch. My background is made up of fabric, rubon, and sticker strips. The only paper I used was the kraft. Here are some close ups.
I mounted the photos on solid cardstock and used 3D adhesive dots so that they are raised above the background and thus stand out more.
I also floated the word 'friends' so that it would stand out above the background strips.
Now lets head over to see what Francine did with the sketch. Thanks for stopping by.
Yes I know that technically it is October but since we flaked on posting last week here is the reveal for the September sketch.
A quick reminder of the sketch we are working with.
These are from my trip to France early this year. Nougat and Macarons...two of my favorite things!
I used one of my old scrapbooking kit this month. I love using them as they come packed with stuff that is already coordinated and makes it easier to create a mix of colors and layers.
Add a few captions from my word stickers for some journaling and there you have it!
Now that I have you drooling all over your keyboard, head on over to see Francine's layout here.
Thanks for stopping by!
Hello! Hello! After a wonderful summer of fun it is time to get back into my regular groove. We took the month of August off for Sister Sketch but we back and ready to go with September's sketch.
You can download your sketch in various formats below.
Check back in a couple of weeks to see what we did and to share your work too.
Can you believe that it is already the end of July. The summer months are going by way to fast but I am trying to enjoy as much of it while I can. Hope that you are too. Here's a reminder of the sketch we used this month.
As you may know I visited my sister and her family in France back in June and I just could not get enough photos of my adorable nephew. I mean how could you resist that cute face.
I could not decided on just two photos to use and then I remembered what Francine had done for her layout last month to fit more photos.
I really enjoyed doing this layout as I very rarely get the chance to scrap boy or kid photos. I had fun playing with bright colors and finally got a chance to use some of the boy embellishments that I have in my stash.
It also dawned on me that everything that I used on this page has been in my stash for well over four years and it still makes a wonderful layout. Just goes to show that you really don't need to always buy the newest things out there to get great layouts.
Thanks for stopping by and now off you go to see what Francine came up with.
Also, please note that Sister Sketch will be on vacation for August as Francine is currently vacationing in sunny Barbados and I will be doing some travel for work. But we will be back in September so check back then.
So here we are half way through the year and it is time for the June reveal. Here's a reminder of the sketch.
I admit that when I did the sketch I wanted it to include lots of photos as I was at the time in France visiting my sister and had taken a ton. So here's my layout.
I had a hard time narrowing down which photos to use so decided to just go with the flow and add a third photo strip.
I made the bunting by cutting triangles from the paper I used for the border at the bottom and gluing them to a piece of colored twine. And of course I had to include a fleur-de-lis!
If you have made it to June with us thank you and I hope you continue to follow us for the remainder of the year. Now let's go see what Francine came up with for her layout this month.
Merci!
Hello from sunny France! I am actually posting this months sketch from my sisters backyard. We are finally together for one of our posts. Yay!
Here are the files you can use for your layout!
Check back in two weeks for our layouts where sadly we will once again be separated by a six hour difference!
Its amazing to me that June is just around the corner, but before we leave the month of May behind it is sister sketch reveal time. Hey that rhymes! Quick reminder of the sketch.
My layout this month is in honour of Francine's birthday and it also fits the throw back Thursday theme that is so popular on Facebook.
I think I am maybe three in this photo and Francine is about five. I also remember the outfits. They were a gift from my aunt Vera who lived in Canada and the tops were red and white and the skirts were green. My mum had us do a photo shoot so we could send photos to my aunt.
I loved mixing the black and white photos with the colored paper but keeping it to just one basic color.
And of course I had to add some bling to make it just a bit girlie!
Scrapping is my passion as it allows me the freedom to express my creative side in many ways.
