I am doing the February sketch challenge over on Tinker Lab. It's a mix of sketching and art journaling and I have been enjoying myself playing with ink and stamps and paints. Here's what I have done so far:
Days 1 -7: Stripes, Mirror, Clear Tape, Squirt Paint, Tiny Sketch, Bubble Letters, Repeat
It has been fun reuniting with my paints, stamps, colored pencils, markers and art journaling odds and ends. It has also been a great way to jump-start my creativity.
So I mentioned in this post that I am attempting Doodle a Day and so far I have completed days one through five. Not bad I think! Here's what I have come up with thus far.

May 2 - Paper
May 3 - Road
May 4 - Fear
May 5 - Five Things

I have been doing Photo a Day for a few months now with some months beeing more consistent than others, but I seem to be losing the zest for it. I think I will take a break this month and focus more on taking photos of just things that appeal to me.
However, I am a glutton for punishment so I had to find another daily to do...I mean come on what else am I supposed to do with all this free time on my hands. I found this Doodle-a-day on Ello Lovey's Facebook page and I am hoping that she continues for May. If not I will just do the April prompts.
I am sure that my doodles will not be anything close to the talent that Rhi has but hey it is a doodle not a Picasso masterpiece and I think it will be fun!
For May I will also be picking back up The Happy Book by Rachel Kempster and Meg Leder.
I failed miserably the last time I tried to doing something with this book (see here) but after all the tragedy in Boston this book sorta jumped out at me from my bookshelf. After all we all need a lot of happy in our life.
So looks like May will be filled with a lot of sketching, knitting, and happiness!! I am looking forward to it and I hope you are too.
It's been a crazy couple of weeks and my poor blog has been neglected but I am finally getting back on track. Here is my latest layout that I did for the challenge over at Dixie Pieces. The theme for last week was alternative and based on the music of "Train".
I let my inner art journalist come out to play for this layout and I love the result.
I am doing a contest over at Dixie Pieces called Dixie Pieces Glee Club so of course all the challenges center around music. For our first challenge we had to channel our inner classic rock from the 60s and 70s and create a layout with a Beatle's song as the title. As soon as I saw "Ticket to Ride" on the list I knew I had the perfect photos.

or should that be colour (smile)! So this week over on Scrap Weekly in 2010 we are doing a challenge a day and the challenges are all about color. For my layout I decided to go the girly route and use the girliest color I know...PINK! Below is the layout that did for the challenge and visit the blog for some other color ideas.
No not just any old summer camp but Scrap Camp over at the Scrap-Friendzy forum. It's not to late to sign up. The kick-off is this weekend and the first challenge will be posted on Monday 6/7.
Saturday was National Scrapbooking Day and I spent the day virtually hanging out over at Studio Calico and doing some of their challenges. Here's some scrappy eye candy from my day of creating.
I did it!!! I completed my Something from Almost Nothing Class with Shimelle. Here is the final page in my Celebrate Life Album and the final of ten prompts that we received for this class. Shimelle, however, is still challenging us to use our stash for bonus challenges and she will also be hosting her first online crop April 16 - 18th. I am so proud of myself. I am up to date with my layouts for my Something from Almost Nothing class. This is indeed a first for me as I usually start these classes with all good intentions and somewhere around the fourth or fifth prompt I promptly (hee hee) fall off the wagon and although I have the good intentions of going back when I have time to catch up it just never happens. So I think I deserve a pat on the back for this accomplishment. See anything really is possible.

I took this photo of Sheldon without his knowledge. I wanted to capture him as he took pleasure in waiting to capture the sunrise at Cherry Tree Hill in Barbados. We got up at 5 am to make the drive so that he could get the shots. You can see his amazing sunrise photos and other photos from that morning here.
I am embarrassed to admit that all the chipboard used on this layout I have had in my stash for at least a couple of years. It felt great to liberate them from storage hell and put them to good use on this page. Another from our trip to Barbados for Christmas 2009. Photo by Sheldon.
