I have had this idea floating around in my mind for a while now since I saw a floating shadow box decoration at Target. Of course with my luck I could not find floating shadow boxes so I decided to just go with the float frames I found at Michael's.
I knew I wanted to use some vintage music sheets that I had in my stash (got them on Etsy last year) to cut the butterflies. Let's just say that old music sheets and the Silhouette don't go well together. The music sheets kept clogging up the cutting blade so after running a few sheets through and only getting a few good shapes (plus lots of curse words) I ended up using a mixture of the music sheets plus some patterned cardstock from my stash that had a music theme.
Here is another view of the finished product. Oh did I mention just how much of a pain in the butt taking a photo of a floating glass frame is.
That is an awesome project! I love the different shaped butterflies and the sheet music. It turned out fantastic! :)

I love it. I've wanted to do one of those for a long time, but I am so horribly impatient... I'd have to do a smaller one. Great job! You must be really pleased with it. :)

This is fabulous! I love the different shades and styles of butterfly, very subtle but very effective.
