I used to devour books as a child growing up and sadly to say over the last couple of years or so the amount I readhas dropped significantly although my passion for buying books has never wavered. After taking a look at the amount of unread books that are on my book shelf plus the never ending list of books to read that I keep on my itouch I have decided to challenge myself to read at least one book a week for rest of this year which roughly translates to at least 26 books for the rest of the year. I am a fast reader so I am sure there will be weeks when I get through more than one book (I mean I did read the four books in the Twilight series in one weekend) and I am also sure that there will be weeks where I struggle to finish a book due to life interrupting. Since I recently started Prep by Curtis Sittenfeld I will use this as my starting point for this challenge.
So if you are interested join me on my journey and leave me a comment with some of your favorite books or what you are currently reading or even just your summer reading list. I am always looking for new books and authors to add to my never ending wishlist.
:-) That is a good idea. I need to get back into the habit of going to the library--since we moved, it isn't in walking distance, so we haven't gone very much. Maybe I can convince T to go this weekend if we're in town.
Hmmm, I am re-reading The Pleasure of My Own Company by Steve Martin, it's pretty good, at least so far. :-)

I just bought "Without You" by Anthony Rapp (star of "Rent" on Broadway). I have PILES of books I haven't read, too, so I am trying to work my way through them too. I think I will take on your challenge to read a book a month! Great idea!
